Anazawa Tenjinja Shrine
穴澤天神社Anazawa Tenjinja is an ancient shrine listed in the "Enki Shiki Shinto Name Book" (Enki 5th year, 905 year 撰上), and is one of the eight shrines in Tama District, and was listed as a Meiji 6th year gosha.
According to the new edition of the Musashi Fudo Chronicle, it was founded 2,400 years ago, in the fourth year of the reign of Emperor Koyasu, the sixth emperor of the people.
The main deity is a shrine dedicated to the life of Shohiko, who bestowed medical methods and the art of brewing sake on the people, and was especially famous as the god of medicine as the god of health promotion and bequeathed great achievements to the management of the country.
In the seventh year of Genroku (1694), a new shrine was built, and at that time, Sugawara Michishin was enshrined. The Duke has been popular and widely enshrined as the god of literature since ancient times, and in the 7th year of the Taisho era, he was enshrined in the village of Yanoguchi Uyato, and he was further enshrined in the Kuniyasu Shrine, and has since been revered as the god of marriage and good luck.
Under the precincts along the right side of the Misawa River, there was a side cave, but the old cave collapsed and is now replaced by a second cave, which is the origin of the shrine's name "Anazawa". In this cave, there are still traces of stone statues of various gods and Buddhas, and at the time of the separation of Shinto and Buddha in Meiji 4, the statues of the gods and Buddha were moved to Weikoji Temple, which was a separate post at that time, and the cave where they have been enshrined since then is called the Cave of Heaven.
