Higashimurayama Yasaka Shrine

東村山八坂神社
The deity of the festival is Ox-headed Tenno. The founding of the temple is not known in detail because the records were destroyed by a fire at Bessho Shofukuji Temple, but it is thought to be shortly after the first year of Koan (1278), when Shofukuji was built, or around the fourteenth year of Oei (1407), when the National Treasure Shofukuji Sentai Jizodo was founded. In the Noguchi Village Pattern Inscription Fine Book of the 11th year of the 4th year of the Treasure Calendar, it is written as "Murauchi Chinshu Gyūzu Tenno Bessho Shofukuji 5 Anti 7 Ridge Ji 10 Walks and Walks", and in the Shrine Book of November of the 3rd year of the Meiji era, there is "Shrine name Chanting Tennogu from ancient times, Meiji 2nd year dedication Kami Yasaka Ōkami and replaced with the village shrine", and in the same year it was changed to Yasaka Shrine and listed as a village shrine. The five-town festival of the five towns of the shrine is held on the 15th of June." From the surviving building tag, the worship hall was rebuilt in the year of the Tenpo Sanmishin and the roof was thatched. In Meiji 42, the roof was replaced with a zinc iron sheet roof. At that time, the annual grand festival was held on July 15th, and from the day before, the crowds of mikoshi shrines, large drums, food stalls, and other festivals were crowded with people from far away and nearby who were looking forward to it. It was renovated as a worship hall in Showa 39, but the current shrine hall was newly built in 1989.
