Hikawa Shrine
氷川神社(From the bulletin board of the Itabashi Ward Board of Education)
Our company has been the shrine of Hasunuma Village since ancient times, and the shrine deities are Susanoo and Kieda Hime. It is said that it was founded in the Keicho period (1596-1615) when it was solicited by Hikawa Shrine in present-day Saitama City to Hasunuma Village (the area west of present-day Ukima Funato Station).
Hasunuma Village was damaged by the flooding of the Arakawa River during the Kyoho period (1716-1736) and moved to its current location on higher ground. At that time, it is said that our company also moved from Maenuma to its current location with the villagers. In addition, it is reported that Nanzoin, which was our separate temple, was relocated as well.
In Meiji 7, it was designated as a village shrine.
On the occasion of the Autumn Festival, which is held on the Sunday before Higashi, Yuka Kagura is dedicated.
