Homeiji Temple

It is said that the temple was founded in the first year of Hirohito (810) as the Shingon Buddhist temple of Weikoji, and it is said that it has been a prayer place for the Minamoto family since the Minamoto family. It is said that in the first year of Shōwa (1312), Ryūshū Ryōshi took refuge in Nichiren Sōjin, changed his name to Nichiren Buddhism, converted to Nichiren Buddhism, and changed the name to Weikozan Homyoji. When Tokugawa Ieyasu entered the Kanto region, he received a 10-stone imperial seal in the 19th year of Tensho (1591), and in the Edo period, it was Nakamoto-ji with 14 temples such as Shinjo-in, Renko-in, Gensei-in, and Kansei-in. In addition, the Oniko Mother Shrine in the precinct is revered by many as the three major demon mother deities of Edo, along with the Iriya Oniko Mother Shrine Shingenji Temple and the Nakayama Hoka Sutra Temple.
