Imado Shrine

今戸神社
The company was called the former Imado Hachimangu, and in the sixth year of Kohei (1063) during the reign of Emperor Go-Reizumi, Minamoto Yoriyoshi, father and son, according to the royal decree, came to the land of Imado at the time of subjugating the bandits Yasutao Abe Sadato and Soto in Oshu, and solicited Iwashimizu Hachiman in Kyoto to Kamakura Tsurugaoka Hachiman and Asakusa Imazu Village (now Imado). Emperor Ogijin's mother, Empress Jin Gong, was born in Chikushi, Kyushu, during the Silla and other conquests of the Three Kingdoms. Therefore, Emperor Ogijin is also known as the Emperor of the Womb and the Emperor of the Holy Mother, and is revered as the god of easy childbirth and child-rearing. The deity of the Izanagi and Izanagi couples was the shrine deity of the Hakusan Higa Shrine in Kaga, and in the first year of Kayoshi (1441) Chiba Suketsunao invited him to his castle. He is revered as the god of marriage as well as the prosperity of his descendants. In Showa 12, it was enshrined with Imado Hachiman and renamed Imado Shrine. In ancient times, the place name of Imado was called Imazu Village, Toshima District, Bushu, and later became Imado (alternate character Imato).
