Kamimeguro Hikawa Shrine
上目黒氷川神社It is said that in the Tensho year (1573~1592), the Kato family, who were vassals of Takeda Shingen in Koshu, welcomed the great god of the soil from Uenohara to this land.
Since ancient times, it has been said that this clan is plague-free. Today, he is known as the god of exorcism.
The stone steps in front are made of komatsu and were made in the 13th year of culture (1816). In the 38th year of Meiji (1905), it was renovated to its current form when the Oyama Kaido (now Tamagawa Street) was expanded. To the left of the front staircase is the Fuji Sengen Shrine mountain trail, which uses a natural cliff. Until around the 60th century, it was possible to see Mt. Fuji in the distance from the top.
