Kankan Inari Shrine

被官稲荷神社
In the first year of Ansei, when Shinmon Tatsugoro's wife fell seriously ill and fell to bed, she prayed to the Fushimi Inari Shrine in Yamashiro (present-day southern Kyoto Prefecture), and the effect of the prayer was that she was completely cured of her illness. Then, in the same year, the townspeople solicited the alter ego of the deity from Fushimi Inari Shrine to this area as a way of thanks. After that, a small shrine was founded, named Kankan Inari Shrine, and is currently enshrined in its precincts as the last shrine of Asakusa Shrine. The origin of the name is unknown, but since the word "official" means to be subjected to the government, it can be understood as employment or career advancement. The torii gate in front of the shrine was dedicated by Shinmon Tatsugoro. (Quoted from Asakusa Shrine official website)
