Rango Tadakata set up a pavilion on the shore of the pond, and worshipped Hachimangu as a god of the gods, and when the pavilion was located on the top of the pond, he called the Ikegami clan, and this ninth generation descendant invited Nichiren from Minobu, Yasumitsu Ikegami. In addition, Hachiman Taro Yoshiie's fort of conquest of Ou, he practiced Zen in this pond, and made a prayer for victory with a forehead in front of the shrine and told him to go to battle. Minamoto Yoritomo, on his way up to Kamakura, learned that this place was Hachiman-gu, and he was greatly rejoiced and erected the banner of Seihei here, and gathered his generals and soldiers from the neighbourhood to enter Kamakura, and there was a banner-raising Hachiman. There is also a good luck with the lodging here. In addition, there is a large pine tree in the precincts, which is said to be the best in Musashi Country, but it has unfortunately withered in the 13th year of the Taisho era, and now there is no way to see its majestic appearance. It is sung in an old song, "A thousand bundles of pines reflected in the spirit when the sun goes down and it is dark under your feet," and you can imagine the greatness of the old pine. As you can see, Hachiman Shrine is one of the oldest shrines in Jonan and is a famous shrine.
